Foursquare and Groupon...will it last?

Here's something we all heard for some months now and, apparently, it is actually already working.

However, here's the question: will it last?

Here's why I ask myself this: Foursquare already has partnerships with most of the daily deals' companies, such as LivingSocial or BuyWithMe. So why would they need another?
Well Groupon has the biggest media attention (most of it paid), so it makes sense for Foursquare to take a "slice".
However, Groupon is rumoured to be having a not-so-healthy business at the moment (check the Yahoo Financial article).

So the thing is, with Facebook already trying to do this (joining deals with location based services), will this partnership hold-up?

My guess? It will, because both companies are very mature in their own field,unlike Facebook, that still as a long way in LBS and Daily Deals.
However, let's see how it rolls out and if Groupon will keep up.
